Our partner Ozonys, who until now have specialised in 20” and 26” competition trials, have decided to surf the 24” street wave! The new Ozonys 24 developed by Bruno Arnold and Yohan Triboulat, the most impressive street rider in France (dubbed the ‘French Macaskill’), was officially unveiled at the start of the month at the French MTB mecca Roc d’Azur 2009 in Fréjus. YT was riding a prototype of the future Ozonys 24 in a series of shows put on by the Event-Performance team, and the bike was photographed from all angles (Yohan Triboulat on the Ozonys 24").
Yohan and his crew (Marech, his brother Thomas and Simon Masi) are working on a big video which will be brought out at the end of the year, “Reason to be II”, for which they released a teaser a few days ago. For those of you who, like us, missed the first instalment that was put online over the summer, here it is: “Reason to be I”... The level of riding is extremely impressive and Yohan has developed his own fluid and efficient style. The video is truly astonishing, with Yohan throwing down the crazy spins and tailwhips that have become his speciality, perfectly executed nose wheelies on impressive and improbable obstacle such as a concrete slope over some stairs. He also goes to front wheel on a rail, a move not often seen on the other side of the channel. The grand climax is played out on the very same rail… YT manages to pull an incredible tailwhip while balancing on his front wheel on just an inch or so of metal! It’s a monstrous video with incredible and well-practised lines, filmed and edited with style (we particularly like the moving shots), to be watched as a matter of urgency if you missed it last time round! France has some true street riders too!
