You can now keep up with all of the news and updates from Koxx rider and World Champion Benito Ros on his new blog, which he recently added to his website. A few days ago he published an article in which he talks about the fantastic street ride that was organised on the Trial Riders forum and which saw 40 riders descend on the streets of Vitoria last month.
It was a day that Benito enjoyed greatly: “(...)far from the typical tension of a competition, everything happens much more naturally and is more relaxed. You can make the most of different aspects of the ride and of other riders, which just doesn’t happen at comeptitions ». Benito and Diego Barrio had a it of a rivalry going on that day: “One after the other, we devoured the spots of Vitoria, and thanks to the encouragements from everyone there, we tried bigger things than we had perhaps intended. A huge thanks to everyone who played a part in such a great day, a day that improved the motivation and enthusiasm of everyone present, including mine!”
He then goes on to talk about the following day’s indoor session…”Despite having ridden all day, it was obvious that people still had the energy and the desire to keep riding, so we talked about where we could go the next day. We decided that we’d been lucky with the rain, which had let us off on the Saturday, and didn’t want to risk being caught out the next day, especially with the forecasts as they were! So I invited everyone to come to my house, which was only an hour away, and to ride my indoor training spot, where I go when the weather’s bad, in the hope that we’d have a decent day’s riding there.
The next day, people from all over the country turned up on my doorstep. Less than on Saturday, the official day of the ride, but more than we were expecting. We used up the last of our energy and managed some pretty good pass ges, I even managed to do some moves that I don’t normally do in training.»

Here’s another look at the video of this incredible street ride, put together by the Costa Este crew. Incredible to think that this mega-ride started out as a small planned ride with five or six riders and ended up being one of the largest group rides ever organised in Spain!
