We got a pleasant surprise at the start of the year: a new trials webzine was born, with the aim of giving a different, more artistic perspective on our sport and of creating a community around trial-based photography and graphic design (see Focus Trial, a new trials webzine!). We downloaded the first issue and were seriously impressed by the quality of the work and the beauty of the images, especially the competition photos and the shots of ‘Le Chat’ on his Fabrègues playground.
You lot didn’t waste any time and the subscriptions (which are free!) have come rolling in, with more than a hundred on the day that we published our first article about Focus Trial. A few days later an English version of the magazine, translated by one of the team’s cousin, appeared online (English version of Focus Trial). We got in touch with Jonathan Scanzi, one of the guys behind Focus Trial, straight away. He’s a true trial fanatic who has spent a lot of time on the French MTB scene. He is returning to his roots and wants to aid the development of the sport in his own way. And we like his way! We decided to lend him a hand and to enter into a sort of partnership between the two magazines: our translator has also joined the Focus Trial staff and will be providing the English translations of their articles from now on! And the collaboration won’t necessarily stop there…. Wait & see !

Ben Swales, the famous translator for Tribal Zine, the No. 1 trials magazine, has decided to join the Focus Trial team to help them in their international development. We hope, through this ‘press release’, to share our excitement about our new staff member with you. Welcome to the team Ben!
Mr Swales is a 26 year old from Sheffield, England. He has been riding for about ten years and has been riding in BIU Expert (26") competitions for the last year. Well known for his translations in the trials community, Ben is also a translator by profession!

Focus Trial present themselves...
The Focus Trial team is composed of two young MTB and photography fanatics: Jonathan Scanzi and Jérémie Delon. Passion for MTBs has driven them from a very early age. Cross country, downhill, dual, freeride, trials, they love it all! Bikes are a way of life for these guys. Photography came into the picture (no pun intended) a few months ago. It was a revelation for these young riders, who scour all kinds of terrain for the perfect photo. The two passions, often combined, rule their lives. And as "happiness is not real unless shared", they decided to add this webzine to their hobbies.
