Tribal Zine, the world’s No.1 trials news and info site passed the 1,000,000 visitors mark! To get the number of individual visits you can multiply that number by six (according to the police) or by seven (according to the unions)! The counter was reset during an update of a previous version of the site, so you can probably add a few hundred thousand visitors to the total as well…

A potted history of your trials site... The first Html version of the Tribal Zone site was hosted on a Free server and went live in 1998! It was the work of El Pinpino, who now lives in Montréal, and was a portal for a small collective based in Compiègne and made up of street riders (trials and bmx) and who’s goal was to promote these acrobatic bike sports.The site was abandoned when most of the riders left Compiègne to pursue their studies. On the 29th May 2009, Jérôme Randier (Jébegood) relaunched the Tribal Zone site, createing a forum and a new site in Html, still on Free: Tribal Zone v1. His goal: to unite the riders that lived in his area, north of Paris, organise group rides, etc. The association’s news, shows, events, etc. could be found on the site and little by little it began to take on a more national dimension. Each day the site had over a hundred visitors and four or five times as many visits.
In 2007, the Html Tribal Zone site gave way to a ‘dynamic’ PHP site… It was much easier to manage thanks to its simple interface and therefore more able to keep up with the fast moving world of trials, which produces more news, media, products and information, from all four corners of the world, every day. At the end of 2008, there were an average of 500 visitors a day with peaks of over 1,000 visitors on some days! Tribal Zone had evolved into a veritable trials information resource, universally recognised as the benchmark in its field. It was, however, a victim of its own success: the free server didn’t have enough bandwidth to keep up with the site’s frantic rhythm… bugs began to creep in and the pages began to slow down considerably thanks to all the visitors. In November of that year the 6,000 files (incoluding over 5,000 images) that made up the site were transferred to a new server and adopted the new address www.tribalzone.fr)!

In March 2009, Tribalzone.fr becameTribalzine.com. the No.1 trials E-Zine was now a bilingual site, available in both French and English, and was much more interactive and dynamic. The site had a facelift and the new Ajax technology was integrated into it. It is now the world’s No.1 trials news and info site with more than 7000 connections a day from 1500 different visitors! This success is largely due to a staff member who joined us in March 2009, Ben Swales, an Expert competitor and professional translator, who allowed us to develop an English version of Tribal Zine. We then took over the bicycle part of the No.1 trials magazine, Trial Magazine, which you can find every two months in all good newsagents! At the start of 2010 a Spanish section was added to the site alongside the French and English sections,
and we are now able to follow everything that goes on in one of the great nations of trials, where it all began in the 70s and the undisputable home of 20” trials. The Spanish section is administered by a rider who has become something of a fixture on the Spanish trials scene: Alvaro Lopez, webmaster of Spain’s No.1 trials forum (Tribal Zine & Trials-Riders). Another development in 2010 came thanks to TinO and Samyno, who developed an application for Tribal fans with iPhone and iPod Touches: all of the news and info on the site is now available in your pocket! An Android version is currently being developed. Today Tribal Zine receives almost 2,000 daily visitors, hailing from the four corners of the world and connecting to the site over 7,000 times a day and we have now passed the 1,000,000 visitors mark!
