TriAl’p Cup Association Press Release
At the start of the year, the TriAl’p Cup Association was formed with a view to organising a brand new four round Franco-Swiss competiion series. The four rounds for 2009 would take place in: Chambéry (FR), Ropraz (CH), Tramelan (CH) et Petit Cœur (FR). The overall goal of the association is to become a frame of reference for European competition.
So far, two rounds have already taken place (Chambéry and Ropraz, see the article TriAl’p Cup - Acts I & II) and have been resounding successes. 103 riders entered the TriAl’p Cup, helping to boost numbers for the Rhône-Alpes Cup and the Swiss Cup rounds that ran alongside at Chaméry abd Ropraz, with 198 and 184 riders entering respectively.
Although the 2009 season has only just begun, the TriAl’p Cup Association is already preparing for 2010. In order to ensure the continued success of the series, an International Committee has been formed:
Operation & Administration:
- Jean-Pascal Depallens (CH)
- Frank Chastel (F)
Federation and Association Relations
- Claude Pierré (F), Rhône-Alpes Committee, Trials Commission President
- François Jeker (CH), Commission Technique Swisstrial
Public and Rider Relations
- Stefan Moor (CH), Elite Rider
- Guillaume Dunand (F), Elite Rider
This committee will be responsible for the supplementary development of the TriAl’p Cup through organisation, relations with the media, trials federations and associations and riders.
In addition to this, there is a large-scale project currently in preparation that should cause a revolution in the world of trials. It will be revealed in full detail at the end of the summer.
The 2010 calendar is being drawn up as we speak and we are hoping to include a further date in the series, meaning that there will be five rounds in the 2010 TriAl’p Cup.
Clubs who would like to have a TriAl’p Cup round run alongside one of their own competitions are invited to contact us by email (trialpcup@romandie.com) fax (+41 21 653 63 11), or telephone (+21 79 212 84 45). We would very much like to hear form you!
All the best for 2009!
