The continuation of the story of one family’s passion that left its mark on biketrials in Switzerlaznd and beyond... Part 2 of the Gavillet saga: the Swiss Monty Adventure Continues!
Robert, at first, with SwissMonty, was disposed to have stock for his son and for the other riders in an effective way. But very soon, he was solicited for doing the reparations during the competition. It was decided to prepare a covering stand for all the competitions in order to do the technical assistance to the riders: The riders only had to pay for the items. The time dedicated and work by Joél was rewarded by the response of the happiness from the riders and parents. He was always attend to help to anyone in need before the competition, meanwhile Jacqueline was taking care of the clothing.

The Robert work, based on offering the repair‐work free of charge offered till now prevented other brands to enter in the Switzerland market such as GT, Heavy Tools or Kokk, letting Monty as the dominant brand in Switzerland for many years.
For such a stand at a competition i twas necessary to have plenty of parts, tools and know/how in order to be prepared for any eventuality.
Jacqueline and Robert had the chance of helping many top riders along the National and International Championships such as Marc Vinco.
This familiar investment by the side of Jacqueline and Robert was recompensed no only by the satisfaction given to the riders and parents but by the great record got by his son Joél, who brought many tittles at Home.

Jacqueline and Robert have stayed always with his son while he was performing shows along Switzerland, promoting the Velo – trial.

Along the years, thanks to the ingenuity of Robert and the experience gained by Joél , different technical suggestions were proposed to Monty in order to improve the models such as the change of the hubs system and the frame improvements at the head parts which were applied on the Monty bicycles.
At the end of 1998, after being 15 years in the competition, Joél decided to finish his sport live. If till now Robert and Jacqueline did the service for his son and others , they went on with the Monty service in all the competitions for more than 11 years more. During this time, Joél was to be in a second place by assuring the German correspondence and setting the web site www.swissmonty.com. Today, at the age of 39 years, he still performs “ le velo trial “ by pleasure (see Trial sur la Côte de Granit Rose).

In 2004, at the UCI World Cup final in Lausanne, Jacqueline and Robert welcomed Carles Diaz and Dani Comas into their home.
But the SwissMonty adventure is not to finish here, since the family Vuilleme from Epauvillers, between Delémont and Porrentruy will continue the activity as the Monty official agent in Switzerland to begin in January 2010 and to follow the Monty service at the competitions.
Jacqueline and Robert Gavillet would like to thank all of those people who put their confidence and trust in them over the many years that they were at the Swiss Monty helm and will always have fond memories of the world of biketrials and the people in it.
