Cao Gong Cang, head of Easy-Bike, a group from Peking who have developed the Fans and Speed Race products, presented the new Speed Race Solo 2010 to us in October. 20 & 26" bikes that are sure to seduce even the most seasoned competitors: a classy design, an up-to-date geometry (1090mm & +50mm for the 26", 1020mm +60mm for the 20"), a reasonable weight (1687g) and impressive technical characteritics (7005-T6 Aluminium, numerous CNC machined pieces, one-piece yoke and
a CNC machined headtube etc…). They’ve been designed for competition riding, right down to the finest detail!
Speed Race have also developed a 100% street bike, which Cao Gong Cang has unveiled exclusively on Tribal Zine, after 190 days of hard work on the design and testing of the frame. It is currently called the “Super Me”
The bike is a hybrid and allows you to choose between 24” or 26” wheels thanks to a clever sliding dropout system. It is built from U6 Aluminium in order to optimise the weight/strength ratio and you will notice the impressive work that has been done on the tube junctions.: you can’t see a single weld! The large U-shaped yoke allows large tyres to be fitted and there are chain device mounts for if you want to take it dirt jumping! The CNC headtube is designed to take a 1.5” steerer…
