The two main bodies in Belgian trials, the Belgian Biketrial Association (BIU affiliated) and the Royal Ligue Vélocipédique Belge (UCI affiliated) drew up a collaborative calendar at the end of last year, with a 12-date national trophy. The fourth round of this Belgian Trophy took place on Sunday on the technical sections of Spa-Francorchamps. 48 riders turned up to ride in the spring sunshine, including UCI no.1 seed, Belgian Champion Kenny Belaey. Kenny won the competition with 12 points on his card, ahead of his brother Wesley (38) and Iciar Van den Bergh (41). In Junior, Jonathan Grommerch took the top spot with 15 dabs, ahead of Tribal Rider Pierre-Charles Thomas (16) and Gauthier Ferro (20). Below are the full results and some media from the competition, taken by Marc Coen, who will be keeping us up to date with what’s going on in Belgium. Marc’s 13 year old daughter Charlotte, who appears in one of the photos below, started riding trials in November 2008 and began competing in Belgium in 2009, also taking part in in the World Youth Games in Marcinelle. She is being trained by Wesley Belaey and rides a Caelifera.
