Singapore trials brand Rockman Bikes, distributed in France by our partner Trialprod, launched a range of 20” trials bikes that was as well-made and stylish as their 26” range (the Black and Blue Aurems, with their long and high geometry, and the Maladie, with a geometry that is a little more extreme). Last month, Rockman unveiled, in exclusivity to Tribal Zine, the first images and then the first photos of their 2010 20” range. Exit the Maladie. The Aurem remained in their catalogue, albeit with a few changes: it keeps the Asian art inspired paintjob, but is now anodised (like the 26” range) and the frame, now made from U6 Aluminium, is even lighter, with a published weight of 1.38kg. A new model was added to the 20” catalogue, the Manus, which is a bit shorter than the Aurem (1005mm) and has a feather weight of just 1.36kg!
Now here are the first studio photos of the new model that is joining the ranks: the Akali, which will be available in two anodised colours; dark greay and black, with some original and well-designed detail.
This model is HS33 only, as opposed to disc only like the Manus and the Aurem, it adopts the same integrated booster as the Slate II and its geo is short and very high. The Akali, as well as the Manus & Aurem III and the Slate II, will be available from Trialprod in about a week,
