The largest cycling event in Czech republic, Forbikes 2012 (22.790 visitors), hosted this year an experimental international Trial race called Forbikes trial contest 2012 by Chevrolet. This whole circus start on Thursday with building obstacles and sections (here we call them stages) in the middle of variety exhibitors from all cycling companies. We dont have a lot of place, but we do our best to make something interesting.
On Friday, the program has been several exhibitions on 4 stages. It went in the following order : MTBS.cz, BigShock, POC helmets and armor and Chevrolet / Carforyou main stage. In each section was introduced Trialshow.cz team and invited best czech Trials riders, and together the whole we make exhibitions for growing viewers base. Already on Friday was appropriate because a lot of viewers, but we had no idea what will happen on Saturday...
Saturday. The main day of the weekend, on the Czech-Polish battle, when we invited three Polish riders to fight three best Czech riders from 2011. So we created two teams, where each team have penalty points together and won the team with the fewest points. The whole race was modified according to UCI rules, so that viewers could see a really clean and smooth ride.
In Poland probably the best 26" rider Pawel Reczek (several times the Polish Cup winner), followed by his brother Piotr Reczek and junior Jacek Jarzombek. Czech trio was then composed of Vlastislav Kabeláč Čiháček (Czech UCI highest ranked rider and several times Czech cup winner), Peter Jeřicha (winner of the Czech Cup in Elite 20") and junior Marek Kotzot (winner of the Czech Cup in juniors). Already in the semifinals, which went for 2 x 4 sections, the Czech (not Swedish) trio created a 20-point lead, with massive support from visitors of FORBIKES 2012. It was really unexpected. After first 2 rounds, organizators from Trialshow team take 1 hour break and make sections much harder for final round. Final had an incredible atmosphere, where crowds of people standing along the sections provided incredible support to the both teams Czech riders. Literally, the problem has always been to move from one section to another, the move only a few yards distant stage lasted 10 minutes, thanks to its incredible number of visitors. But everything was managed to perfection, and finally the Czech team confirmed the first 2 round of its lead and deservedly won. Then you just followed its publication, thanking partners and we could go pick up all forces on Sunday ...
On Sunday was scheduled several attempts to overcome the Czech and world records. Specifically, in the following disciplines : jump from short distance without hook, sidehope, spins 180 degrees per minute, jump with 60cm vault. 3 czech records was made under member of Czech cycling federation (2 on 26" and one on 20" bikes). Attempts to records were little affected by Vlasta´s injury from morning exhibition. Vlasta start in 3/4 minicontests (as we call attempts here) and won all of them. We still dont trust how many people came specifically to contest and records. It is a pleasure to watch the growing interest for Trial (UCI Trials) sport in Czech republic, which might tie for Trial growing popularity abroad.
Overall it was a busy weekend, but everything was successful so we can boldly hope to continue next year and other similar projects / events. Thank once again partners of this event, specifically the General Partner and Chevrolet, Carforyou, as well as energy companies BigShock, POC, Neumann and MTBS.cz.
