Gilles Coustellier retained his World Champion’s jersey following a very close battle with with Kenny Belaey in a very intense final! Vincent Hermance took bronze this year. The Junior 26" title went to British rider Joe Oakley who took the lead over Spaniard Abel Mustieles Garcia (who had already taken the 20" title!) on the second lap. Our friend from the German Trial Team Hoffmann sent us a load of photos of the 26" finals, following those of the Junior final, here are the Elite final shots, to be followed soon by a TTH special - an HD video of the finals!
Gilles Coustellier, en route to his second consecutive World Championship win, achieving his ambitious goal of retaining all three of his Champion’s jerseys!
Kenny Belaey came close to victory: only to be beaten by Gilles on most cleans!
Supermance defended his title of Vice World Champion until the bitter end but had to relinquish it to Kenny Belaey!
Marc Caisso (Team Atomz) finished in a very respectable fourth place this year, the culmination of an exceptional season and perhaps of his fantastic career, punctuated by 7 French Championship, 4 European Championship and 3 World Championship wins!
Ben Slinger showed himself to be the top British rider this season, riding his Quark to a well deserved fifth place in Canberra (and over all), having ridden in every UCI final this season! Big Up!
Benito Ros, after having won his sixth World Championship the day before, finished in seventh place in the Elite 26" final!
Australian Joe Brewer is one of the big surprises of the Championship. He does not appear in the UCI classifications, and most of us only know of him from his impressive videos (Joe Brewer on street and natural), but he finished 8th on his home turf! Bravo!
