Ozonys, the brand developed since 2006 with passion and dedication by former UCI Worlsd Champion Bruno Arnold, is one of the most dynamic and popular brands of the moment, among competitors and street riders alike. Their new range is as large as it is well put together, with a lot of work going into the design and the technical aspects of the products. The big changes for 2012 have come in the form of their flagship model, the Curve, which has been optimised even further and which is now available in a 24” model, with a top of the range specification that suits it to a T; their street trials model, the King & Dunce, has been updated again, with a more ‘radical’ geometry; and the appearance of a new entry-level bike, the Skill, which opens up their previously pretty exclusive catalogue to beginners and newer riders.
A few days ago, Ozonys unveiled on their Facebook page and website the 2012 version of their famous Cannibal. This competition beast is a common site in the paddocks and sections of national and international rounds and is in its fourth version, having been improved every year since its first incarnation. Dubbed the ‘bad boy’ of their range, and with a fairly moderate geometry, it is aimed at a wide audience: it’s a stylish and fun bike, easy to pick up and ride and doted with a top-end specification (see our test of the Cannibal V3), coveted by younger competitors and ridden to its limits by the elite riders. For 2012, it has adopted a grey anodised finish, which gives it a completely different look. The tattoo-style graphics remain, with a new addition on the dropouts and stays. It has been spec’d with Bonz Pro Light components throughout, and is available with either dual HS33s or HS33/Hope brakes. The frame has been updated with a cut-away yoke, and the bike has been lightened overall, adopting Try-All tyres for example, bringing the weight down to an incredible 8.5kg for the HS33 version!
