Top Norwegian rider Thomas Remvik Aassen, alias TRA, made his big comeback this summer, following a seven month break with a broken wrist. He now rides for the American brand that everyone is talking about on the net: Caelifera.
Hinmaton Hisler, the Caelifera boss, told us about his company in June: Caelifera is a small company based in Richmond, Virginia, USA. These frames and component lines are designed and created by hand, one at a time by the avid riders who work for Tektonics Design Group. These frames and components are design by riders for riders. Our emphasis is high end Natural and UCI Competition based products. Caelifera now have a website, www.thecaelifera.com, that presents all of their products and it is the most modern-looking site that we have seen for a long time, showing the dynamism of this high-aiming young American company. Hinmaton and his team want to step it up a gear in 2010: He told us that he is "currently working towards creating a working partnership with a manufacturer to help produce these frames in a manner that makes them available to riders world wide by 2010 ". He also told us that he was going to "develop a Super Light Pro Signature model" (Caelifera, made in USA).
This model has just been unveiled and bears the initials of the brands shock ambassador, TRA! Thomas received his new frame a few days ago. The geo is long and high and the bike is much lighter than the previous model and has a gloss white paint job. We’ll talk more about this bike in a few days. Here are TRA’s first ’steps’ on his new bike at his indoor training area, including some massive extensions and a 360º gap between two sleepers!
