Joe Brewer is the current Elite Australian Champion. He impressed us all with his incredible performance at the Canberra World Championships! Many of us were surprised by his result – the talented Australian rider had not figured in the UCI World rankings before the competition, yet managed to qualify for the final, in seventh place, on the first day! He finished eighth overall in the championship, just a few points behind Fontenoy, Slinger and Caisso!
Many of us got to know of Joe, who is sponsored by Tartybikes, through his remarkable videos, brought to us by our Australian correspondent Mitch Ho. You might remember the HD video created by Simon Betteridge, which featured some big moves on the rocks around a raging river, (Joe Brewer street & natural), or the street clips compiled by Paul Gerloff & Andrew Dickey a year or so ago (Joe Brewer street).
Mitch has just sent us this new video, created by Paul Gerloff, of the top Australian rider on the streets of Melbourne. It’s largely a street video, with a few natural clips thrown in for good measure. Filmed in November, the video also features two other Australian Elite riders, Andrew Dickey (23rd in the World Championships) and Nathan Mummery (25th). It’s full of big moves such as taps and sidehops, and Joe pulls off two massive lines towards the end of the video: a gap to front at a very dizzy height indeed, and a massive gap between two concrete obstacles. The editing and riding are very accomplished, with some original camera angles… Enjoy!
You will also notice that Joe is now riding on a bike from Canadian brand Meta, who will be bringing out a new model next year, aimed at UCI riders, the VTT2 2010.
