Martyn Ashton is thegodfather of British trials - the man who brought it to the masses and pushed the boundaries while the sport was still in its infancy. many riders (including myself) say that it was Martyn that got them into trials. He has competed at the highest level (he has even been a World Champion) and now makes a living rising demos for Team Ashton/Diamondback and Animal.
Here’s a promotional video for Bike Radar Live, the UK’s annual summer bike-fest that took over from the Bike Show. It features Martyn ot what at first seems to be a cross-training ride on his carbon road bike. However, he’s soon heading off road and getting up to his usual tricks ! He rides trials on the rocks of Parthcawl, manages a very technical ride down a sloping rock (which older readers may recognise from Getta grip) and even pulls a backflip in Bristol city centre ! Amazingly, the only damage the bike suffered was a puncture - sustained while riding along the street ! Enjoy...
