Fans is a new brand of trials bikes that we found out about when our partner Spherebike announced that they would be distributing their 20” & 26” frames in France. They are good looking, competitively priced (€395), very light (1640g for the 26" and 1490g for the 20"), and have up to date features such as cut-away headtubes (Nouveautés Spherebike 08/2009).
This new brand is in fact a division of Chinese manufacturer Easy-Bike, who came onto the scene last year with their new frame the Roar (A bit of Asian exoticism...). Easy-Bike are based in Peking, the host city of the last Olympics.
We will talk more about Fans in a future article once Cao Gong Cang, Gao Xiang and their team have uploaded their new site.
In the meantime, here’s a video of Liao Xiao Dong, a very impressive young street rider from Peking, riding on a Fans 20”. The video was filmed a few days ago in the capital of the People’s Republic of China. See below for your daily dose of big sidehops, gaps and bunnyhops: This young lad goes big, with a very smooth style!
