The second round of the competition took place on the lower part of the Verjoulot site. The sections were more in line with current UCI standards, but still just as impressive – especially in the Super-Elite category, in which only a few riders dared risk themselves on the BFTC sections. Giant gaps, enormous ups, they certainly made for an interesting second round.
The weather was much more clement, with a few clear patches interspersed with short rain showers and some hail. The rocks were therefore a bit more accessible to the riders, some of whom had been thrown off balance by the previous round, which took place in some extreme conditions.
Benito Ros had taken the lead on Saturday with 29 points, followed closely by Gilles Coustellier and Vincent Hermance, both on 47.
The final saw these three exceptional riders finish with equal scores, each coming in with 17 points on their card. Benito Ros therefore took the win at K-124 Days 2010, ahead of Gilles and Vincent respectively, separated by most 1s as they had an equal number of cleans.
In Elite, Ozonys’ Guillaume Dunand took the win with 46 points, ahead of Ion Areitio Agirre on 60 and Hannes Herrmann with 69 points.
British rider Charlie Rolls took the top spot in National 4 category and Découverte was dominated by the girls!
