We recently told you that Elite rider Juanda, who has been in the UCI top ten for a number of years (third in the 2005 UCI World Championship), and who was at several of this season’s competitions (17th at the Ripoll World Cup round), is currently working on an interesting new project: a 24" aimed not at street but at natural. He has created a very trials specific geometry, taking the best from both 20" and 26" designs: high BB, long wheelbase and a feather weight. Last week we showed you a collection of photos of this new bike and of Juanda putting it through its paces on some artificial sections.
Juanda has told us a bit more about this new bike, which he says combines all of the advantages of 20" and 26". The model that he is using at the moment is a preliminary prototype that was built in Spain, the definitive prototype will arrive from China in a week’s time and Juanda will send us some photos of it soon! Juanda will be testing the frame himself and the production model should be on sale in about a month.
Geometry:
Wheelbase | 1060mm |
Chainstay Length | 368mm |
BB Height | +60mm |
Head Angle | 71° |
Here are some new action photos of Junada testing his prototype on some enormous wooden obstacles. Click to enlarge.
