The year 2009 has been a good one for trials and for your trials information site. Gilles Coustellier and Benito Ros, in 26” and 20” respectively, have once again raised the bar and the international season saw many closely fought battles for the various titles. In the end the rainbow jerseys were retained by last year’s champions, who are still top dogs in a sport that has become more professional and more impressive than ever before! The sport’s main revolution this year came from the streets thanks to the phenomenal Danny Macaskill, who we’ve been following with great interest for some time now and who, in one fell swoop, has created a worldwide buzz around our discipline, on the web and on our televisions. Equipment has continued to evolve and develop and is lighter, better and cooler than it has ever been! For Tribal Zine, 2009 has been a great year: The site has become the world’s No. 1 trials site with more than 7000 connections a day from 1500 visitors the world over! This success is largely due to the hard work of Ben Swales, an passionate trials rider and professional translator who joined our staff in March, which has allowed us to develop an English version of the site. A big tip of the hat to Ben, a real trials fanatic who has already translated 300 articles for the magazine! Big Up! In 2009 we have also taken on the bicycle duties for the world’s No. 1 trials magazine, Trial Magazine, which can be found in all good newsagents every two months and in which there will be some nice surprises for you in the New Year! And that’s just the start!
All of us at Tribal Zine wish you a very happy festive period and all the best for 2010!!! Enjoy the sections, the adrenaline, the good times with your friends, the competitions and the progression… all the happiness that the sport brings! We’re preparing some New Year’s surprises that will bring the site into a new dimension for 2010 and will be working even harder to bring you all of the international trials news as it happens! A big thanks to all those who have participated in this collaborative adventure, by riders for riders, by sending us their news, information, photos and videos! And also to all of you who visit Tribal Zine everyday for your dose of trials! Spread the word! And finally, thanks also to all those who have supported us throughout 2009… TMS-Bikevision, Ozonys, Triaprod and K-124, who allowed us to experience and to share with you the intensity and the spirit of the 2009 K-124 Days, and to our friends at Photo by Sergio for their tireless work in bringing you the best in trials media! Vive le trial!
