British street rider Danny Macaskill’s latest video (Danny MacAskill - April 2009), brilliantly edited by his housemate Dave Sowerby, has caused a real stir on the internetand on the trials scene. Dave Cleaver, head of Inspired Bicycles, posted it on the biggest trials forum on the internet (Trials-Forum.co.uk), and a few hours later it had become the most viewed and commented topic on the site! It blew our minds as well when we saw it, and we placed it at the top of the magazine’s video ’chart’. It’s "the most incredible street video that we’ve ever seen", a video that "pushes the sport into a whoe new dimension". World Champion Gilles Coustellier reacted on the Espace Trial forum: "I have to say, its a montruous video! Great to watch, he’s got SUCH a high level...the top of the top! It must be amazing to watch in person!". The shockwave of this internet bomb has gone even further than the world of trials, reaching all cycling forums in general and beyond. It beat Youtube’s record number of views, with 1,393,073 at the moment of writing and has been the subject of 12,473 comments, each more positive and enthusiastic than the last, and has seen just as much success on other streaming sites as well!
Here’s an interview with Danny carried out by the BBC two days ago:
With this video, Danny has brought trials to the attention of a massive audience, larger than anyone could have hoped for before now. Is this the video that we’ve been waiting for, that will bring our sport the popularity that it deserves?

Dave has also sent us some photos of the new Inspired pedals, developped by Danny Macaskill. They have been tested over a period of almost ten months before being put on the market a few days ago. The ultra-slim 16mm CNC’d 6061 Aluminium body allows for optimum ’feel’ and a perfect ’symbiosis’ with the bike, while their concaved design improves comfort and grip over more classic pedal designs. A tough Cro-mo axle protects a sealed bearing system and the pins ensure that your feet remain fixed to the pedal. They weigh 456g a pair and are available in matt black or gloss white (with a laser-etched Inspired logo). It’s a classy and technically brilliant product!
