Tribal Zine achieved a lot in 2009, becoming the world’s No. 1 biketrials website with more than 7,000 connections a day from 1,500 different visitors! This success is due largely to the hard work of Ben Swales, a trials fanatic and professional translator who joined our staff in March, allowing us to develop an English version of Tribal Zine. The Tribal Zine team has also taken on the bicycle duties for the world’s No. 1 trials magazine, Trial Magazine, which you can buy every two months in all good newsagents. Look out for a big surprise in the next issue!
And we have no intention of stopping there! Your “for riders by riders website” has some big projects planned for 2010, some of which will be finalised this month, which will allow us to push the site into a new dimension. The first of these big projects began today, with the addition of a Spanish section alongside the English and French sections, and we will now be able to follow everything that goes on in this great trials nation where it all began!
This Spanish version of Tribal Zine will be looked after by Alvaro Lopez who is already well known on the Spanish trials web and who has an impressive contacts list in his country: he knows everyone! Alvaro is the webmaster of Spain’s No. 1 forum, with which we are already associated: Trials-Riders.es, where you can chat with some of the country’s best riders (Abel Mustieles, Juanda de la Peña, Javi Alonso, Rai Arjona, Guillermo Marin, etc.)! He has also created a fanzine which he distributes, for free, in PDF format on his forum and which is a veritable mine of information and news… We’re really pleased and excited that Alvaro has joined us here at Tribal Zine, allowing us to follow closely everything that goes on in the sport in Spain! Thanks Alvaro! The Spanish section will appear shortly with the publication of our first article in Spanish; an interview with a top Spanish rider who rides for Echo!
Alvaro Lopez presents himself...
Hello, my name is Alvaro Lopez. I’ve been riding trials for a few years now and I try to do everything that I can to promote the sport. I’ve already worked on some important forums and websites in Spain and then decided to create my own forum, with the aim of making it the country’s No 1 forum, where members can find all the latest trials news.
This dream has become a reality and I am the webmaster of the biggest Spanish trials forum, Trials-Riders.es, which is a major source of national and international trials news and information!
I am also the director of the country’s main online trials magazine “A Rueda” (On Wheels), in which we try to keep Spanish trials riders up-to-date with what is going on in their sport with interviews, bike tests, competition write-ups, photos, columns, etc… with the participation of many trials personalities.
I’ve always had this idea and drive to unite our sport as much as possible and of consolidating relationships between trials riders the world over, and it is with great pleasure that I have joined the Tribal Zine staff to run the Spanish section of the site, which we hope will bring new and exciting things to your screens! I cannot thank Tribal Zine enough for their confidence in me and I will do all that I can to make sure that it is well-placed. Thank You!! Alvaro Lopez
Benito Ros in Trials-Riders colours!
La Bestia went to Murcia a few days ago to train and party with the local riders… Here are a few photos from the trip, taken by José Manuel Tudela: the six-time World Champion is wearing a Trials-Riders T-chirt! These T-shirts are available direct from Alvaro Lopez for a modest fee of €12. More photos of Benito can be found on Trials-Riders.es, here !
