Marcus Gelhard is someone of whom you will all be aware. While studying audiovisual production, Marcus created, under the name “Gpoint”, a series of HD videos that really stood out from the crowd. Each and every one of his videos is excellently produced, touching the ‘G’-spot of trials riders the world over! It all started with a magnificent documentary; (Trials, a fascinating sport). Following that came a series of videos featuring top German rider Marko Berthold (Marko Berthold in Berlin & Marko Berthold indoor). Then, his crowning glory so far, Marcus created THE official K-124 Days 2009 video with the Tribal Zine team (K-124 Days 2009 by Tribal Zine)! More than just a video, it was a complete report on the event, filmed with several HD cameras with steady-cam gear, superbly edited by Marcus and sure to be remembered for years to come!
This summer he also brought you a video of The European Championships in Zoertemeer, where Dani Comas took the prestigious title of 20” Elite European Champion, ahead of World Champion Benito Ros, while Gilles Coutellier successfully defended his Elite 26” Champion’s Jersey! Once again, Marcus’ pro editing and brilliant camer work shone through, providing a video that enabled us to relive the event as if we were actually there (Zoertemeer by Gpoint)! His latest opus was in November, a top-quality video of top Atomz rider Hannes Hermann, who is trained by former World Champion Marco Hösel and finished third in last year’s German Championship and tenth in the UCI worlds. The footage was sublime and the editing perfect, showing us a training session at a “secret spot” near Chemnitz in Saxony. It’s one of the best natural videos that we’ve ever seen!
But the best is yet tom come. Marcus has finished his university studies and is now at the top of his game, with several trials projects up his sleeve. He has also joined the Tribal Zine staff as our head video editor and will once again be producing the official video of K-124 Days 2010 along with the rest of the team. It’s sure to be a treat for your eyes! Welcome to the team Marcus!
