On Sunday 5th of April Cerny Trials Club organised the 4th round of the Central France/Paris Regional Championship. It took place at their outdoor trials area, which has seen some dramatic changes over the last three months. A total of 52 lorries brought tonnes of new rocks to the site, which has been completely redone with the help of a hydraulic digger, ready for its planned enlargement in 2010 (effectively doubling the size of the area!). This round also served as the qualifier for those riders who wanted to go to Spain at the end of May for the Bike Trial European Championship. A total of 92 riders showed up for the comp, of which 16 were riding in Elite (a new record!), with the Belgians, Vincent Hermance, Kévin Aglaé, Thomas Francisco, Alexandre Fabrégas, and Maxime Kolb all in attendance. Julie Pesenti was also present, getting in some training before the first round of the World Cup.
This year, luckily, the sun and the high temperatures ensured a great day for everyone who was riding on the 12 sections set out or the competition.
The sections were set out so as to challenge the handling skills and precision of all of the riders in each category.
Riders and spectators were well looked after and were able to buy food and drink on site by visiting any of the various stands that were set up.
K-124 and their Parisian K-124 shop also came along to reveal their new range of bikes, including the 20" and 26" Sky and the new Foxx.
The day came to a close relatively early since the riders, who began the competition at 10am, were all finished by 3pm, with hardly any queues for the sections at all.
Results...
In Elite Class, Vincent Hermance finished first with just 8 points on his card, ahead of Thomas Francisco (22 points) and Kevin Aglaé (27 points).
