The German Championships 2017 Trial 20“ took place in Rüsselsheim (near Frankfurt) as part of the "Hessentag" (the oldest and largest state festival in Germany). For the championships 12 spectacular sections containing logs, blocks and rocks, were built at the festival-area next to the river Main.

In the men’s Elite the favorite Dominik Oswald (Münstertal/Dorval AM Ozonys) was unbeatable. The title holder Raphael Pils missed the championships due to a knee injury. Oswald was the only rider that cleaned all sections in the final (2 rounds in three sections) . The battle for the second place was a head to head race between Matthias Mrohs (Schatthausen/Extreme Bikes Sports) and Kai Lorenz (Schmie/Bikes in Motion). After the last section Mrohs was 1 point ahead.
