Yesterday we brought you the latest video from top Norwegian rider Thomas Remvik Aassen, alias TRA, whch showed him on one of his first rides on his new bike, a bike that bears his initials and reputation : the Caelifera Super Light Tra Signature. Hinmaton Hisler, the head of the young, Richmond (Virginia) based company, who designs all of his bikes and components himself, told us in June that he was going to “develop a Super Light Pro Signature model” (Caelifera, made in USA), and here it is – dedicated to the brand’s shock ambassador !
Here is a first look at this new model, which keeps the distinctive form of the Twenty-Six with it’s grasshopper looks, but adopts new 7005 Alu tubes (Zonal Tubing, Triple Butted top and down tubes) and a more extreme geometry. The wheelbase has been extended to 1095mm, the chainstays to 392mm and the BB has been raised to +60mm while the head angle remains the same at 72 degrees. The rear end has been redesigned in order to save weight and the yoke has been cut away slightly. The frame weighs in at exactly 1.66kg, much lighter than the 1.995kg Twenty-Six and well deserving of its Superlight title !
TRA had this to say about his first few rides on this new bike aimed at Elite riders : “The bike so far is awesome, the high bb + long chainstays works as i anticipated, the geo is amazing , what ive been wanting for years. And the frame is a about 1.66 kg and fairly stiff.”. It’s a bike that will interest European street riders but also (and especially) competition riders, with its top-of-the-range design, long and high geometry and ultra-low weight… Let’s hope it will become available soon ! Le poids de ce vélo : 9,98 kilos. Petit détail sur le haut du tube supérieur de la nouvelle arme de TRA : un dessin d’un symbole de la mythologie nordique, « Mjöllnir », littéralement « le concasseur », qui est le marteau à manche court de Thor, le dieu de la foudre et du tonnerre...
