It’s official : Our partner K-124 have just received the 2011 Sky frames, which will be available at the end of the week from K-124 House!
The brief for this new frame, by Vincent Hermance: “Optimise the geometry and the behaviour of the bike, harmonising the function of the frame with that of parts yet to be released and increase the strength of the frame while keeping it one of the lightest on the market so that everyone can enjoy the feeling of a top end bike from their very fisrst competition”. Mission accomplished! The result of this brainstorming session by the K-124 research department will bowl over even the most demanding of competitors. The Sky has been optimised, lightened and made even more reliable. It adopts a new headtube, new tubes, a new geometry and an understated, pure comp image. The 20” has an interesting innovation on the bashplate, which is no longer bolted to the downtube, just to the bottom bracket with four bolts.
It also sees the adoption of post mounts for the disc brake, which are now a standard.
Here are the geometries, prices and official images of the Sky 2 frames! These frames have understated lines, a classy ’purebred’ look that returns to the very essence of the brand: the quest for pure performance.
