Our partner Trialprod recently received a big shipment of new products, which we will present in detail soon. In the meantime, here’s a brief look at the new Rockman cranks, which blew our minds when we saw them. We had a close look at a pair, weighed them, felt them and liked them! They’re the best produced, lightest and nicest looking cranks that we’ve ever seen: the anodised matt silver finish and CNC logo are magnificent!
Forged first from high quality 7075 Aluminium, then CNC machined, these cranks are available in three lengths: 160, 165 and 170mm. They are threaded to allow a front freewheel to be fitted and spaced so that they won’t rub or catch on rear HS33 pistons, as certain other cranks currently available on the market do on some frames (obliging riders to grind the cranks down a bit to enable them to fit). The Rockman logo has been CNC machined into a part of the crank that does not have any contact with the foot so that it does not rub. It seems obvious, but this is not the case with the cranks that are in direct competition with these, the Try-All forged cranks. These Rockman cranks are exceptionally light (426g for the 175mm version!) and their super-stiffness means that they are ideal for comp use. The price means that they are a good choice for anyone though, at €99 from Trialprod!
