Leading moto trials clothing brand Jitsie are breaking into biketrials this season, and they´ve got big ambitions! Behind the famous brand is a passionate Belgian trials rider who rode at the highest level on the world circuit and who also rides a bit of biketrials, Jan Cardinaels. He has arrived on the biketrial market with a real desire to innovate and a catalogue of products specially designed for our discipline. The first biketrial-specific clothing will be unveiled to the public at the Antwerp World Cup and will be available on the market at the end of September. Notable items in the catalogue include some ultra-technical shorts that are the fruit of two years of research and presented by Jan: “We decided to develop some shorts after visiting the World Cup in Knokke three years ago. I saw riders having to pull up their shorts after just a few jumps and before most big moves. It was incredible to see so many top riders riding in clothing that wasn’t designed for trials. As I rode a bit of biketrials as well, we decided to see if we could come up with a decent product. Unfortunately it took us two years to get something we were happy with. Life’s never simple. The criteria for a good pair of shorts are many, if you listen to the riders; it shouldn’t weigh anything, should be ultra-flexible, well-ventilated and stay in place properly. After a lot of effort, we finally decided that the product was ready to sell. The riders who tested it are happy, so… we’ll see! To begin with, we created some shorts, a shirt (short and long sleeves), gloves and socks. We will be working on shoes, protection and trousers for the winter. The first range is called Airtime.” We’re happy to see such an established a brand enter the biketrials market with such know-how and enthusiasm. We could do with some innovation in trials clothing! They will also be sponsoring a top rider for the rest of the season, none other than Enter-Bike / Koxx (and Tribal Zine !) rider Jack Carthy!
