Flipp, the leading rider in brakeless street trials, introduces the first production of the new brand Alias !
"This is a big moment! The Alias 20.1 frame is based on my home-made frames, but refined and then built by people who actually know how to weld.
The black frame I’ve been riding in the past bunch of videos was the prototype for this frame, which I was testing for about 18 months.
Head over to tartybikes.co.uk, read the full details, and then buy one! (www.tartybikes.co.uk/20_inch... ) If brakeless isn’t for you, don’t worry; they’ve put a disc mount on it ;)

It’s the most versatile frame I’ve ever ridden, and as such is also the most fun I’ve ever had on a bike."

The Alias 20.1 frame
Introducing the first product from new brand Alias Bikes, a pioneering steel 20" trials frame developed and tested by team rider Flipp over the last 18 months.
The Alias 20.1 frame is made from high quality Japanese Cr-moly and features double-butted tubing to ensure maximum durability while keeping the weight to a minimum. The Cr-moly steel offers a different feel to traditional aluminium frames by providing a more yielding and engaging ride.

Short chainstays and relatively low BB height give the bike a street focused geometry which is perfect for technical and creative trials riding! Integral head tube is designed so the bearings sit directly inside the frame, saving weight whilst maintaining strength. The frame also features gussets at the top and down tube where they meet the head tube. The enclosed chainstay yoke and ovalised chainstays maximise durability in this high stress area whilst the custom machined, threaded bottom bracket shell gives riders the option to use one of the many different crank and BB options available.
The Alias 20.1 rear end has been designed to work perfectly with a 18:12 gear ratio, so we’ve been able to keep the precison CNC machined horizontal dropouts compact and minimal, thereby maintaining the clean lines of the frame. The drive side dropout features an integrated CNC machined disc mount which has been combined with an additional gusset to ensure the frame is tough enough for use with a rear disc brake (maximum recommended rotor size 160mm).
