2009 is a "year of revolution" for Ozonys, with a new technically and aesthetically innovative range, built with competition riding in mind, right down to the smallest detail. The frame designs have been rethought in order to make them as light as possible without compromising the strength and reliability that have contributed so much to the brand’s success : the headtube and bottom bracket have been lightened, all tube thicknesses have been recalculated, the frames feature an integrated CNC booster and so on.
The two major innovations, which are subject to patents, concern the 26" models. Their geometries are variable according to three different settings and the new chain tensioner system is fitted to the chain stay and allows an optimal chain tension and protection.
Bruno Arnold just put on-line on the Ozonys website the first picture of the Curve 26, the replacement model for the famous XR 26, which will take its place at the top of the brand’s 26" range. The 6061 Alu frame features a lot of the same innovative design features as the Cannibal (CNC pieces, lightened headtube and BB, recalculated tube thicknesses for the best weight to strength ratio, adjustable geometry and new chain tensioner system), but has a different geometry : it’s 5mm longer than the cannibal, with a 1089mm wheelbase for the Long model. The Curve will also be available in a Short version, with a 1074mm wheelbase (with a 45mm rake fork). It’s shape is also very different, with curved tubes and a very classy paint job which mixes sky blue, black and grey on a white background. The published weight at this stage is 1.750kg.
