You should already be familiar with Dominik Raab, the talented 25 year old Astrian street rider sponsored by UMF (United Merida Freeriders), the trials, dirt and DH/freeride branch of Merida Bikes; he began riding trials in 1997, starting with several competition successes (Austrian Champion, 6th place in the European Championship, 15th in the World Championship) before turning pro in 2007 and focusing on shows in Austria and abroad (Europe, US, Asia). He also began producing quality videos: His street videos are among the best of the genre, rivalling those of Danny MacAskill in many respects (Dominik Raab’s Autumn video & Dominik Raab in Barcelone).
Now he’s back with a new video, filmed over the Autumn of 2011 on the streets of his hometown of Vienna. It is an exercise in style, with spins, nose wheelies and other street trials staples being pulled and landed with millimetric precision, with the beautiful classic and modern architecture of the Austrian capital as a backdrop, along with the transitions and boxes of its famous skatepark. Austrian rocker (and keen cyclist) Rainer Binder-Krieglstein provides the soundtrack, with the exclusive use of his new song “Jungz” (Boyz), which will appear on his new album “Jugend” (Youth) in the spring of 2012, and the editing is taken care of by Konstantin Smola. Enjoy!
