Danny MacAskill is out of this worlds! In just a few months he has brought trials into a whole new dimension with a series of spectacular videos, giving the sport an unprecedented amount of media coverage. His insane tricks (including tailwhips, backflips, flairs and unbelievable spins) have opened new doors for street trials, which is now almost synonymous with 24”, and have blown the minds of millions of internet and TV viewers. His video April 09, where it all began, has been viewed more than 12 million times on Youtube, making it the most viewed online sports video of all time! No trials rider has ever defied the laws of gravity in the way that Danny does, or generated such a following. Who would have believed at the start of the year that street riding could have pushed trials into such a spotlight? Thanks Danny!!
The top Inspired rider is continuing his dazzling rise to the top. It’s been official for a few weeks now, Danny has wings! That’s right, he’s now riding for the famous brand that sponsors the biggest names in extreme sports: Red Bull! In October Danny travelled to the States, to San Diego, to officialise his new shock contract with a spectacular photo shoot (during which he injured his shoulder – get well soon Danny!). As we informed you a few days ago, his operation went well, they put a couple of screws into his shoulder, and Danny should be back on his bike in about six weeks. Below are the results of the shoot, taken by photographer Michael Clark in the centre of San Diego…
