Photo by Sergio, the trials photography specialist who has been taking the best trials photographs for five years now, has sent us a new Best Of video. Following the best footage of Toni Bou from 2010, here is a look at the highlights of Abel Mustieles’ 2010 season.
This young Spaniard never ceased to amaze us throughout the whole season, which was his first in Elite. He already has the makings of one of thegreats! The UVI Junior World Champion showed his mettle in a spectacular fashion in Mont Sainte-Anne, taking the title of Elite 20” Vice World Champion, behind the man that won it all last year, Benito Ros. In the lead after the first lap, Abel just missed out on toppling Benito from his throne. The following day, he finished ahead of Gilles Coustellier in the 26" competition, coming in fourth in the 26” Elite World Championship! In July, Abel also finished in second place in the Melsungen round of the European Championship and shone throughout the World Cup, in which he also finished second.
Click below to see this awesome footage of the rider who is tipped to be the one to topple Benito in the next few years. Filmed at la Tour de Scay (K-124 days 2010), Calonge (training), Saint-François Longchamp (World Cup) and Cahors (Urban Trial). You can also read our latest interview with Abel, the day after the World Championships, here.
