In recent years, competitive, or "pure" trials, has been overtaken by street trials, both in the media and with the public. Danny MacAskill brought trials into the new age, with his brand of trials creating a buzz among riders and the wider public alike, and seducing big media. But in 2012, competitive-style trials has enjoyed something of a comeback, with media events, street videos and competitions all generating a lot of interest. A handful of top elite riders have taken the bull by the horns and released some professional productions, with the aim of promoting ‘pure’ trials as it deserves to be. One of the most prominent of these riders is eight-time Australian Champion Andrew Dickey who, in March this year, released one of the most spectacular pure trials videos we had ever seen. The incredobleBlack Bike Volume 1 caused a sensation on the trials web, with incredible and creative lines, ridden with impeccable style, and some moves that were enough to freeze the blood in our veins. The video was viewed over one and half million times on Youtube.
Andrew is back with Black Bike Volume 2, a sequel that is just as impressive and fast-paced as the original. The BikeTrials Direct/TNN rider rides a series of breathtaking lines, taking big risks and showing and incredible mastery of his bike. The last move is a spine-tingling rail gap/drop combo that sees Andrew leaving behind a crank arm as his bottom bracket snaps on impact. The impact of the riding is complemented by the dynamic and professional edit and multi-camera setup including an onboard Go-Pro. Competitive trials has its “MegaSkill”, his name is Andrew Dickey.
