Hungarian Tribal Rider Adrian Lengyel, who is also sponsored by Rockman, Reset and now Speed Race, is still on fire! After winning the third round of the Hungarian Cup), the 19 year old went on to win the final round which took place a few weeks ago in Gyöngyös. It was a typical Hungarian competition with enormous wooden, concrete and metal obstacles set out in the very centre of the town, which is situated 75km away from the capital, Budapest. Adrian is now the top Elite rider in Hungary, while Hegedus Laszlo went on to take the Super Elite title.
We spoke to Adrian a few hours after his latest victory…
«I’ve just won the final round of the Hungarian Cup. It was really well organised, the obstacles were enormous, it was wicked! As usual the atmosphere was great and the adrenaline was pumping – some of the obstacles were up to three metres high! I also won the overall Cup, placing me at the top of the Elite class in Hungary! I’m so happy! Thanks to my parents and to everyone else who supports me! Now it’s party time!”
Bravo Adrian, we’re really happy for you! Can you tell us a bit more about the Cup and your plans for 2011?
“The competition was hard. There were a lot of things on my mind, school exams, opportunities, tsunamis, rainfalls, disasters... Which meant that I hadn’t had a lot of time to go riding or prepare for the competitions. I started my preparation for this season too late, in April... I won’t make the same mistake in 2011, I would like to go and do all UCI comps in 2011, but this will be difficult, I’m at University now, so this year will probably be more difficult than this year and previous years. But I’m single now, so I can concentrate on myself and my preparation and focus on my own life!
I am lucky because my parents support me in everything, I don’t know what would happen without them. I hope to find more firms who can support me, and help me in my goal of winning more competitions! 2011 will be a better year! I will start preparing for it NOW.»
We don’t doubt it for an instant… Here’s a bit of advice for any potential sponsors looking for a talented young rider to promote their brand on the international circuit: Adrian is a true professional and will be doing big things in 2011! We’ll be looking at Adrian’s 2010 season in more detail in an interview that we did a few days ago. For the moment, here’s an HD video of his latest victory…
